Magnet Research!

The tamariki in our writing group are turning into great little researchers.
This week we are continuing our work with magnets and gathering new ideas on what we can do with them. Did you know that you can paint a picture using the pull and push force of a magnet? These children discovered that you can paint a picture by using magnets and metals by researching on the iPads. They are so excited to try this out for themselves on Thursday and create a masterpiece to share with everyone!
I can't wait to see what they make. #Learn#Create#Share

Awesome learning guys. We love that you are exploring magnets. We hope we get to see your final projects.
We learnt a lot about magnets too. We learnt what is magnetic and what is not magnetic. We tried to pick up big things with small magnets. The small magnets are really strong, we even tried to pick up a chair with the horseshoe magnets but it didn't work. Do you think you could pick up a chair with magnets.
A couple of room 2 students made up a game with magnetic sand. The game was to use the magnets to get the most magnetic sand on your side. There wasn't a lot of sand so it was hard to win.
