Maths Learning

Today in Maths our problem solving was focused on what we knew about the number 60. With partners, the children represented 60 in as many ways as they could. They then shared with their group. In our group we represented 60 using addition, tallies, counting in 10s and using tens and ones.
Can your child think of any way to represent 60?

In our target group, we looked at teen numbers. In partners, we used tens frames to make teen numbers and then wrote an addition equation to make the number. The children then made teens number independently.
Can your child show you how to use a tens frame to make teen numbers?

  1. Great to see what your group did for problem solving Nikki. They had some great ideas. I liked the way you counted in tens to 60.

In our group we knew that 6x10=60 and some children could tell me that 70-10=60.

I cant wait to see their problem solving next week!
